This is a very attractive car. The shiny black paint, the large rear spoiler, and the chrome wheels are a real draw. With the turbocharged engine, it will go as fast as it looks. Even though the car is listed as a "GLS" model, the wheels upgrade it to a "GLX". The car was brought in for service with the complaint that the transmission was not shifting smooth when rounding a corner and accelerating hard. The owner was considering trading the car on a larger car for a growing family and asked if we wanted to buy it as is. We jumped on this gem and started the needed repairs. The transmission had leaked fluid due to a stripped bolt that secures the pan. In addition, whoever repaired the transmission two years ago left out the filter (screen) and the transmission oil was not being pumped into the shifting chambers when it sloshed around upon turning a corner. A new filter and fresh oil along with repair of the leak made this transmission like new. While getting the car ready to sell, we also discovered that the door lock on the driver’s side had an electronic problem. A circuit board repair was made, restoring the locking/security system to normal operation.
This is a six year old car. While the paint has a show-room shine, close examination will reveal previous touch-up paint and other minor flaws. There are no dents and there is no evidence of previous body or paint work. The seats show some wear and some previous stains even though they were professionally cleaned by a detailer.
There are four known problems with this car: the #3 preset radio button is broken, the inside cover for the moonroof is off track but works fine, the outside mirrors do not have functioning heaters, and the shift lever is a little sloppy when placed into the drive detent. We do not consider these defects to be serious enough to warrant repair at this time, but we do want to fully disclose any known problems.
This car comes with the Vee Dub Advantage which includes free readouts of DTCs if the check engine light should come on. We will give you advice regarding repair. Although the car is under full warranty, some repairs are very simple and we may be able to save you a trip to the dealer for warranty service.
